Artist's Comments

A friend of mine passed away not too long ago. Didn’t know him that well. What I do know is that he was a real funny guy and was a big fan of Superman. So here’s my way of paying tribute to him. A drawing of his version of Super Man, his name is Maximan.

Not my best work. But Alex Ross (the piece I based it off of) is a tough act to fallow. Plus my style is not the best style to use when mimicking Ross’s fine arts style. Along with the fact that this piece took me no less than 7hrs.

I'd greatly appreciate it if who ever see this pic, fav it. It's my little way of letting people know who Edgar Torres is.

I'd fav this even if you didnt ask. Its a great picture, and a great tribute. Didnt know the guy, but I know a good tribute when I see it.

Wow! Y'know, Alex Ross is a damn genious when it comes to art. It's not hard to see why you would be inspired by that pic of Superman he did, one of the best ever IMO. No doubt you feel it doesn't match up to his version, however, it is still a very nice piece. I especially like the face. There's something about that slight anime flair to the eyes, nose and mouth that makes it have character, especially on a realistically proportioned figure.

My only critique is that there's something wrong with his thumbs, they look too long.
